The corporate ID project’s goal was to create an identity for a company that provided a well round idea of the company’s products, practices and target audience. This would be presented through it’s logo, business card, letterhead, envelope, and presentation folder presentation. I was given 3 weeks to work through the process of creating sketches, get feed back, and redeveloping my design until the very end of the project.
Thoughts on the Project
I chose to design for the fictional company Axiom Sound for my project. Axiom Sound is based off the Bose company. It’s a company that sells sound systems such as headphones, speakers, etc. I had a fairly good idea of what the company’s target audience would want out a company such as Bose and applied the same aesthetic and style to represent Axiom Sound.
Customers would expect a sleek presentable presentation along with the highest quality in performance from Axiom Sound products. The same should be with their company logo design.
I decided on a very straightforward approach with the logo sketches. I wanted a design that told the consumer what Axiom Sound is all about as well as presenting itself with a vision of simplicity and style. So, I drew headphones in different geometric designs with a thin title font. I kept this a constant but played with their design a little bit, adding thin or thick lines, multiple lines, different headphone designs.
However in the end the my most appealing logo turned out to be the very first one I designed. (As decided by the class and Mark) Which was funny because it was my least favorite design.
But none the less a great learning experience!
